Fae 5.10

I got up bright and early the next morning and headed for the lake. Several hours later I was just about to leave when she showed up.

I waved as she walked over. "I didn't think you were coming."  "I didn't think I was either, but here I am." She said with a shrug. "So now can you tell me why you aren't allowed to talk to me?" I asked. "It's a long story."  "I've got time."  With a sigh she she said "Alright, lets sit over there." Once we were seated she started. "Amongst my people, the greatest crime we could commit is to turn on our own. My father told me when we moved here of your family and how I was to stay far away. He told me how your father had been taken in by my people, and raised as one of them, then one day with your mother's help he slaughtered an entire coven, one of whom was one of our most powerful in the last century. The Covens had high hopes for him, till your parents killed him, that is. So in our world your father is one of the most hated among the fae. When he realized you lived here he forbade me from ever speaking to you." I was stunned. There was no way that my parents did something like that. "Why did you decide to meet me here today, I mean if your father would be angry?"  "I guess I thought you're different than everyone else, you're nice."  "well if it makes you feel better, my mom would freak out if she knew I was talking to you, again."  "I remember that day at the park, you were the first one to speak to me since we'd moved here."  "If everyone hates you so much, why did you decide to move here in the first place?" I asked. "Well, we're different from the rest of our kind, while we survive on the blood of the living, my father found a fruit that we could substitute for blood. Mom says it's not as good, but it's all I've known. They petitioned the Fae Council to allow them to live here, and here we are."  "Yea, too bad you're here forever." I said not even thinking. "No, we come and go all the time. The fruit we live on won't grow here, only in the mortal world."  "You've seen the mortal world? What's it like?"  With a chuckle she said "Have you not seen it before?"  "No, I've never been anywhere but here. How do you get there? the Portal is sealed?"  She looked right at me and said with a sparkle in her eye "We have our ways." I was just about to say something else when she said "I have to go" getting up to leave I said "Wait, and you meet me here after school tomorrow? Around three?" Pulling away she nodded and said "I'll try." Then she was gone. I stayed there for a while longer thinking over what she had said. Had dad been raised by vampires? Were they killers?

Fae 5.9

~Sebastian~

Well Rochelle left today for Faeland, she got accepted to the dance company, for a summer internship.  I envy her so much. I would give anything to get out of this town. It's so boring here. I spend most of my free time exploring the edges of our island, not that there's much to explore. Near my house is a beach, and on the other side of the island is a small forest. Anyway after Rochelle left I went out to the forest, just to kill time. As I walked into the woods I saw her standing there. The vampire girl, the one I talked to that day at the park. I quietly approached her, "Hello" I said. When she turned and saw me, she said "I have to go"    "Wait! Please!" I pleaded. "I'm not allowed to talk to you. I have to go." She said as she started to walk away. "Hey, wait up!" I said as I caught up to her. "Why can't you talk to me?"  "Because of your parents" she said looking around. "I really have to go, they'll be mad if they catch me." With that she was gone. I stood there for a minute. What did my parents have to do with anything? I spent the rest of the afternoon at the lake in the forest. When I went home I went upstairs to my room. Flopping down on my bed, I thought again of how boring it was here, even my own parents were boring.

The next few days were just like every day before. Up, school, home, bed, repeat. Saturday was here, I got up just as mom was going to bed. She had a habit of sleeping during the day for some reason. I decided to head to the beach, and wouldn't you believe it, but there was the vampire girl again.

"Hello!" I called. Startled she turned around, "Are you stalking me?" She asked. "No, I live right over there" I said pointing to the house, I come here all the time. "Are you going to run away again?" I asked. "I'm supposed to." She said, but didn't leave. "How about this, since you aren't allowed to talk to me, I'll write a question in the sand and continue in my walk. If you want to answer you can, then you can't get in trouble?" She nodded her head in agreement. She went back to what she was doing.
-What's your name?- I wrote in the sand and continued my walk.
As I came back around I saw she had answered.-Meghan-
-My name's Sebastian. Why can't you talk to me?- again I made a loop.
-It's a long story-
-it's it just me, or all Fae?-.
-Just you, though no one else has tried to talk to me, I have to go-.
-can you meet me at the lake tomorrow?- as I came around again I saw that she didn't answer.

Did she see my last question? Well I would go to the lake tomorrow and wait all day if I have to. When I got home mom was making dinner, "Hey mom" I said "did you have fun at the beach?" She asked. "Yea it was great" I said sitting down at the table. Dad came in a few minutes later and joined me. Once dinner was ready mom joined us and said "Your father and I have some news, I'm going to have another baby"mom looked at me waiting for a reply, "Great" I said a bit sarcastically. We ate the rest of dinner in silence. Once dinner was over I went upstairs to my room. Flopping on the bed I just lay there staring at the ceiling.
